Girl Power Rocks With Goldie Blox!

If you have a girl in your life who loves math and science (and even if she is the girliest girl on the block), check out this new product I found at Toy Fair called Goldie Blox. There is a huge disparity in the number of girls vs. boys who pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) studies and careers. In lower grades, STEM courses are geared heavily toward boys if they are offered at all, so that many colleges and universities report a very small number of women in STEM majors. Debbie Sterling, inventor of Goldie Blox, wants to close the gap. Debbie created the product and corresponding books to offer girls a fantastic opportunity to unleash their left-side brains and be innovators in math, engineering and science!

Watch my interview with Debbie as she reveals her “a-ha” moment and why she created this award-winning product. As I tell her during the interview, this is not only teaching concrete STEM skills, it’s a life lesson in setting goals and achieving them. Talk about girl power!
