If you know me and follow me, you know about a little event I started a few years ago called National Mom’s Nite Out. This annual event which now draws millions of moms to celebrations across the country (May 8th this year) will be even better with the release of Mom’s Night Out, the movie on May 9th.
I’ve seen the movie no less than four times now and have loved it even more each time. I had the rare opportunity to visit Alabama last summer and watch the actual filming of the movie into the wee hours of the morning. (Here’s the post.) Even better, I met two of the directors’ wives (the Erwin brothers), who are certainly inspirations behind the film with young children of their own. Check back here soon as John Erwin was my guest on Mom Talk Radio last week.
Last Tuesday, we had the chance to attend a South Florida screening of the movie friends and we’re still raving about it. We loved the positive messages in the movie, but most of all the hilarious situations that moms (and dads) can relate to, especially if you’ve tried to take a rare night off! Even though I’ve seen it multiple times, I still laughed out loud, teared up and felt so good after the movie.
Hundreds of bloggers have had the chance to attend preview screenings of this Sony Pictures movie, and the response has been fantastic.
The cast is amazing and it’s so worth a few hours of your Mother’s Day weekend. So after you celebrate National Mom’s Nite Out on May 8th, make a date (with girlfriends or anyone else) to see this movie. You’ll love it.
About Mom’s Night Out
Produced by Kevin Downes to be distributed by AFFIRM Films (a division of Sony Pictures) and Provident Films, ‘Mom’s Night Out’ is a fast-paced, family comedy about four moms scheduling a night out where everything can and will go wrong, yet it all turns out just fine in the end. No matter how well-organized moms are, we can all tell the same story or two about a night out going awry! The film features a fantastic lineup of stars like Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy), Sean Astin (THE LORD OF THE RINGS), Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond, The Middle), Alex Kendrick (COURAGEOUS), Robert Amaya (COURAGEOUS), Andrea Logan White (REVELATION ROAD) and Kevin Downes (COURAGEOUS). Platinum-selling country recording artist Trace Adkins (THE LINCOLN LAWYER) is “Bones,” a philosophical tattoo artist with a checkered past and a load of wisdom.
