Bald, Brave, Beautiful Project Benefits Children with Cancer

When you ever feel like things can’t get much worse, remember there are children who actually are fighting for their lives as they battle cancer. Grammy Award-winning artist Gloria Gaynor rewrote the words of her iconic song I Will Survive in support of the Bald, Brave, Beautiful® project at Miami Children’s Hospital. Additionally, Gaynor visited Miami Children’s Hospital in September to record this song and music video to help spread the word that “kids and chemo should not go together.” The goal of this project is to raise funds to help find a cure and provide hope to children with cancer. We debuted the music video at the 2012 Diamond Ball benefiting Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation on Saturday and it has almost reached 1,000 views on YouTube…and this is just the beginning. Without further ado, please click here to view the music video.

Background on the Bald, Brave, Beautiful® Project

With the ultimate goal of raising funds to find cures and save children from cancer, Bald, Brave, Beautiful® at Miami Children’s Hospital is gaining momentum through the support of celebrities like musician Armando “Pitbull” Perez, Shark Tank host Daymond John and players from the Miami Marlins. Grammy Award-winning artist Gloria Gaynor even rewrote the lyrics to her iconic song I Will Survive and recorded a music video with some of our patients and supporters to highlight the Bald, Brave, Beautiful® project (view at youtube.com/miamichildrens).

The Bald, Brave, Beautiful® project supports research and medical treatments at the Miami Children’s Hospital Cancer Center, which is nationally ranked by U.S.News & World Report and boasts the highest 5-year survivability rate for pediatric cancer in the country. Not to mention, Miami Children’s Hospital treats children from nearly every state and more than 60 countries, including a major focus in Latin America and The Caribbean.

Kids and chemo should not go together. With your help, we can raise significant funding and national and international awareness in the fight against childhood cancer.
