HP for Back to School (+$25 GC giveaway)

As you may know, I’ve recently sent two of my four children off to universities this summer. Outfitting them, for what is the first time they have lived on their own, has been quite the experience. We have basically set up two other “households” with everything we think they will need as they embark on their exciting journeys.  One of the major spending categories has been technology. Our children have grown up with amazing choices, and what was a luxury not too many years ago is now a requirement for students at almost every grade level, especially college.

Because a major portion of the budget is spent on electronics that are educational tools (I also have a middle-school and high school student still at home), I like to go with brands I trust and provide a great value, like HP. There are three products, available at Wal-Mart, that deserve a look (especially the e-printer – one of my faves):

HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm Entertainment PC <bit.ly/HPdv6PC>  – Introducing the HP Pavilion dv6 laptop PC. With a sleek, tapered metal design, it’s easy to pick up. With cool features like Beats Audio amplified by quad speakers and a subwoofer, it’s tough to put down.

HP Deskjet 3052a e-All-in-One printer <http://www.walmart.com/hpeprint> – With an HP e-Print wireless enabled printer, you can now print from your smartphone or tablet from virtually anywhere! Your children can send photos and assignments from the classroom right to your HP ePrint printer at home by simply sending an email. This printer is also great for teens going away to college! You can share photos and recipes with them in their dorm room. Stay in touch with your students with HP ePrint.

HP XL Ink Cartridges  <http://www.walmart.com/hpink> – Back-to-school means lots of printing! These cartridges fit in your printer like HP’s regular cartridges, but they hold more ink. The best part is they are now available at Walmart and Walmart.com/HPink so you can stock up on ink when you buy groceries. You can save up to 40% on printing with HP’s XL ink cartridges*. That’s a great value any mom can appreciate!
*Compared with single, standard HP ink cartridges. Based on average retail pricing, actual prices may vary.

For your chance to win a $25 Walmart gift card to stock up on back-to-school essentials, leave a comment here on which HP item would best prepare your student for the new school year, and why. A random winner will be chosen on August 31, 2012. US residents only, please.

Good luck at back-to-school time.

HP is a client, opinions at the top are my own – Maria.

  1. The laptop for sure. Ours died recently.

  2. The HP Deskjet 3052a e-All-in-One printer would be great for the new school year.

  3. HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm Entertainment PC would prepare my 17 year old daughter for the school year. She is applying to colleges and there is so much to do.

  4. An HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm Entertainment PC would best prepare my student for school 🙂

  5. The HP Pavilion Ent PC laptop would best prepare my son going into high school this year. It would help him if he had a laptop of his own to do all of his homework.

  6. The HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm Entertainment PC would most prepare my son. You can take it everywhere you need it. Class, library and home.

  7. The HP XL black and color ink in appropriate style/size would be very important for printing documents and materials! I know when I was in school I went through lots of ink.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  8. Any of the HP Pavilions, they are robust and sturdy, and that’s what my kids would need to succeed in school. Thank you for the generous giveaway!

  9. A new, current and up to date Hp laptop would be my first choice for my daughter beginning her senior year of college…the newest technology would help her close one chapter of her life, while being well prepared for the future! The printer as well as the ink would be great as well, but superfluous with out the computer! BUT… Emailing info from another computer or even a cell phone to the printer could be very advantageous! Ok…so I am unable to commit to one particular answer! Having ink always always on the ready is just another step in the preparedness drill… Thanks for sharing the opportunity!

  10. A lap top for my son- he does his schooling online and I would like him to have a faster speed computer. And a decent all in one printer. We have kids that are in a techno world for sure! 🙂

  11. The new HP printer!

  12. I would put the $25 Walmart gift card to use buying the HP e-Print. I am a homeschooling mom to a kindergarten student. We save money by purchasing workbooks and using page protectors with dry erase markers BUT having a printer would make my daughter’s school work less work for me – giving me more time to focus on her. (Or go for a quick jog or bike ride around the neighborhood!) The HP e-Print wireless printer is at the top of my wishlist.

    • Hi Autumn, you are the winner of the $25 WalMart gift card! We had to go back for another random winner (the first winner never responded); we will email you today! Congrats, we hope you can get the HP ePrinter; it is an awesome tool!

  15. I think that I would like the HP pavilion ent. Pc for my daughter since almost all of the school work and lessons are up on-line. I think that all school age children should be given one.

  16. The HP Deskjet 3052a e-All-in-One printer. We use laptops now and a wireless printer would enable my teen to be able to print right from it

  17. The HP XL Ink Cartridges would be great for all the printing we will be doing during the school year!

  18. The Allin-In-One Printer would be so great for my daughter who is a budding writer/poet.
