Pay Attention to the Ta-Tas and Get the Right Bra

We all know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If the actual dates aren’t obvious, the “pinking” of everything is sure to catch your attention. As I’ve been traveling to business meetings and college campuses, I’ve seen an explosion of pink merchandise – from the shirts and hats in the signature pink color and ribbon to the pens at the office supply store – with donations benefiting many worthy groups. (Personally, I can’t wait for the NFL games when the players go pink!) Seriously, this is an issue that affects too many of our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends. So throughout the month of October, we will be highlighting just a few of the many wonderful ways to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, including the latest information in my inbox from Breeze Comfort apparel. (See details about the Freschetta Pizza Strength of 1 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Breeze Comfort is offering a special promotion for the month of October, where 50% of proceeds will be donated to Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program when shoppers use a special code (BCCARES). Shoppers who use this code will also be entered to win an additional style. Breeze Comfort makes innovative intimate bras, sports bras and tops with a technology that promotes positive breast health.

Products range from $30-60 and use a patented Ventipad (www.breezecomfort.com/technology/). Whereas traditional bra pads act as sponges to collect moisture and sweat causing discomfort to the wearer, Breeze Comfort’s Ventipad reduces the “sponge effect” through the perforated air channels resulting in a more comfortable wearing experience.

In additional to the unique padding, the sports bras provide support with the padding and some are push-up, which sets them apart from the average sports bra. The unique and innovative technology of the Ventipad reduces moisture and makes the bras super breathable, leading to a more comfortable workout. The styles have been worn by celebs including Karina Smirnoff, Ali Fedotowsky, and Mayim Bialik and are very stylish. They have been on Shape.com and Refinery29 in addition to the Today Show. CBS’s hit show, The Doctors, also highlighted the innovative technology in the padding on their “Surviving Summer” episode.

Last week, I posted about the Freschetta Strength of 1 campaign. Here are the details:

Now through the end of October, the makers of Freschetta® pizza are helping to promote breast cancer awareness through their The Strength of 1™ campaign, which includes the sponsorship of Bright Pink, the only national non-profit organization focusing on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women while providing support for high-risk individuals.

The mission of this The Strength of 1™ campaign is to inspire everyone to realize they can make a difference – big or small – in the fight against breast cancer.  There are many ways to take part in the campaign, including: share a story about how someone has made a difference; take The Strength of 1™ pledge on Facebook; or help spread the word on Twitter.  In addition, by sponsoring Bright Pink, the makers of Freschetta® pizza want to show women that they have the power to take their breast and ovarian health in their own hands.

Visit Freschetta’s Facebook page for information and how to participate in the campaign. Watch for more breast cancer awareness campaigns that are happening in October.
